The SandGlass - Sands Of Time

An antiquate from the olden days
I could see one at the tables edge,
breathtaking was its size zero neck
challenging an engineers knowledge.

Hiding behind the dust was this beauty
made of glass that gleamed and shined,
the crystals of grain grazed my eyes
the sight was such that made me blind.

Tilting the glass the grains flew as birds’
rushing down were the sands in the glass,
sands of time was all that I recalled
with the grains the time too did pass.

The time passed as the sands dwindled
teaching me, the lost time will be no more,
for the times lost cannot be retrieved back
as they are long lost behind locked doors.

To defy logic, I tilt the glass again
just to see the grains lively dances,
I learnt you cannot get whats lost
but life does offer second chances.
